Kim Pearson

My name is Kim. What I do here is I come here and I do weaving. It is quite interesting. I feel my way around with the yarn. When I touch the yard sometimes I can feel the chenille or the fuzzy yarn or the acrylic yarn. There are many textures to the yarn. I have a new measuring tape. There are staples on every inch so I can measure my work. I like weaving because I can feel the yarn which makes my work fun and challenging. I challenge a lot of things. I have also been making random art with another instructor. I recently did a poem that represents me not being able to see. I have been incorporating braille in my work so other people who can read braille can read my poems. My instructor writes the poem too so everyone can read. NCA is important to me because we get to do art and socialize and make friends. It is one of those things that if you are not coming here what would you be doing? I would be staying home alone and lonely. It’s important to come here and work because when our art sells we get paid so it is important for others to come to NCA and see what we do. There is always something to buy so I invite you to come up here and see our artwork.
