Roland Vieira
I am Roland and I am a hard worker. I color, work with clay, make art on the computers, sing, and work in the garden. I like the color pink. I like to paint people and draw pictures of my friends. I made a guitar in woodshop class and if I sell it I earn money. Some of my favorite things are seeing plays, watching musicals, listening to music, and making art to sell. I like to make masks in clay. The masks I make are like the Phantom (‘the man’). I also made a witch that was from a play called ‘Wicked.’ I am very proud of myself, oh, yes! I am proud because I have good art skills. I have liked art since I was little. When I am at NCA I love seeing all of my friends. NCA makes me feel happy! I also like to see all of my bosses (Roland’s instructors and staff). A message from Roland: “People! We need you to come here, to Neighborhood Center of the Arts, NCA, and buy our art at the art shows. Buying art helps us earn money and helps NCA stay in business. NCA needs to stay in business so people like us have a place to work, spend time with friends, homeboys, and staff!”
Roland’s work was selected for the 2017 DOWNrightART Exhibition in New York.
